Basics
Character Name: Christiana "Anna" Eve Porter
Age: 17
Year: 7th
House: Gryffindor
Date of Birth: September 19, 2002
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Wand: Unicorn hair core, Beech wood, 10 ½ inches, unyielding
Personality
Likes: Reading, helping other people, being outside, the horror genre, cats, Potions, and pasta
Dislikes: Blind faith, romance genre anything, conflict, rodents, stupidity, and citrus (she has an allergy)
Personality: Anna could be considered a very shy person at times. She has always been a quiet and gentle soul. She has never been one to ask anyone for anything. She often feels like she's being selfish if she asks for help in any way. This, of course, means that Anna usually thinks of other people before her self and will forgo her own needs to help the needs of other people. The last thing she ever wants to be is an inconvenience.
When Anna does open up, she becomes a more outgoing person. She cracks corny jokes and plays games. She even tends to get competitive with board games of any kind. The last thing anyone wants to do is face her in wizard's chess. When it comes to her duties, she is unrelenting. If someone has a truly good excuse as to why they're out after curfew or starting altercations in the hallways, she might show a bit of sympathy but will ultimately follow the rules she is supposed to enforce. That being said, Anna avoids trouble and follows rules to a tee. That isn't to say she won't question some of them from time to time.
Because of her parents, Anna avoids blindly following ideologies. She likes to form her own opinion and find out as much information about a subject as she can. She likes to be informed and refuses to be ignorant about an issue. She likes to see all sides before drawing a conclusion and figuring out what's right and wrong by her own moral standards. Sometimes this makes her appear cold, when in actuality she is the exact opposite. Anna is a warm-hearted person and will do anything to help anyone going through a tough time. After all, she's dealt with her fair share of rough times and wants to make a hard path smoother whenever possible.

Character History:
Christiana Eve Porter was born on a cold September night in 1997 to Naomi and Mark Porter, a couple who had been devout Christians for their entire lives. For the first few years of young Christiana's life, everything appeared to be completely normal. That is, until one day in her Sunday School class when she was five. Little Christiana wanted to be like the biblical prophets and perform miracles... so she parted her apple juice like Moses parted the red sea. Almost immediately, Father Mark Porter feared for his daughter. Surely such an event was a fluke. After all, mortals couldn't do such a thing. It was later that year that Georgiana Mary Porter was born. Father Porter prayed that strange occurrences wouldn't afflict little Georgie as well.
Christiana lived in the shadow of her little sister from that point on. Anytime something strange would happen with her, her parents would shy away from her and focus on little Georgie. At school she was being called a freak for bringing back plants from the dead or making toys float. She had no idea what was wrong with her and she felt as if she were cursed. Had God abandoned her? Did he not love her or something? She didn't get an explanation for everything that was happening to her until the summer of 2008.
A person claiming to be from the Ministry of Magic came to her house that summer and delivered her a letter telling her she had been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents refused to believe it at first. Once they had been convinced that yes, magic was in fact real, they began to grow livid. Witchcraft was a sin, after all. It was extremely clear to Christiana that they weren't going to let her go to Hogwarts. It was also clear that they were never going to look at her the same way again. So Christiana essentially said, "Screw it," and made it clear to her parents that she was going to Hogwarts. The Ministry official took little Christiana to Diagon Alley in order to get her supplies for school.
When September 1st came, Christiana was more excited than she could have possibly dreamed... yet at the same time she was full of sorrow. Her parents merely sent her off on a train station in Glasgow so she could get to King's Cross Station. So much for her parents actually missing her, she supposed. When she finally found her way to the Hogwarts Express (which took a lot of time and humiliation) she had opted to sit alone and read. She didn't know anyone and had absolutely no idea what Hogwarts was going to be like.
When the time came for her sorting, the hat immediately saw her bravery. She was willing to stand up to her parents in order to go where she wanted and learn what she wanted to learn. Without any hesitation, the sat sorted her into Gryffindor. It was at that point she decided to go by Anna rather than her full name. After all, Hogwarts was a chance to start fresh and not be the school freak. The next four years were full of the same routine as far as summers went; she would go to school and write to her parents (receiving no response except for 'stop sending owls to our house it's weird'). When she came home for breaks, the days were filled with awkward silences and repeated reminders to not tell Georgie about the existence of magic. During the summers, she was required to stay quiet about Hogwarts and dutifully go to church every Sunday... even though her Christian faith had been waning since her discovery of Hogwarts. It had gotten to the point where Anna dreaded going home for breaks. It felt as if her parents didn't actually love her. They loved the preconceived idea of who she was supposed to be. They loved an idea of her without magic... a her that was more like Georgie. Their relationship was hanging by a very thin thread that was nearly about to break.
By her fifth year, everything began to crash down. The only positive thing to happen that year was her appointment as the Fifth Year Prefect of Gryffindor house. It was during Christmas break when everything in the Porter family shattered. Anna confronted her parents about how they actually felt about her and magic and the result was not pretty. A long argument about the bible and magic ensued. After that long, drawn out verbal battle between Anna and her parents, she finally screamed that she no long believed in God. That was the final straw for Anna's parents and she was essentially kicked out of her house. She packed up what few belongings she actually had in her house and left, having no idea where she'd go or what she'd do.
The Knight Bus picked her up after walking for a few miles and took her to Three Broomsticks Inn at Hogsmede. Anna didn't know where else to go. She payed for a few nights at the Inn while she wrote to friends, asking if any could host her during the rest of the break and the summer. Her best friend and roommate Grace Kent flooed to the Three Broomsticks as soon as she got Anna's letter. Anna spent the rest of Christmas break with Grace and her mother Elizabeth. Mrs. Kent told Anna that she was free to spend as long as she needed at the Kent household; no matter how long that was. From that day on, any break Anna had was spent at the Kent house. The guest room had essentially become her room by the summer before her seventh year. Now, during her seventh and final year, Anna has been working on getting the best grades she can possibly get so that she could rent her own apartment as soon as she can. She doesn't want to inconvenience the Kents any more than she needed to. She dreams of becoming a Potions professor one day, but decided that until that becomes available, she'll settle for running a Potions shop.
