On the other hand she likes to let loose sometimes. In her office is a small collection of elf and muggle made wines and she'll enjoy reading a book and having a glass or two on a night. When she was younger, she'd often be out drinking and socialising with friends, but she realises that with the responsibilities she has these days, it'd be unwise to do so again.

Character History:
Early Childhood History:
Helena was born in 1976 in a tiny village named Cuxham just near Didcot. The first born of Kathleen and Barnaby McQuillen, Helena spent most of her early years, exploring the nearby farmlands, chasing cows and playing by the nearby river. Over the next few years, her siblings would arrive. Firstly, Finley. Finley enjoyed spending time outside with Helena but much preferred to be flying around on a Toy Broomstick (and later a real one) than chasing cows. Though their house was visible to muggles it still had plenty of magical charm, visiting muggles often found it a rather disconcerting place and were often quite keen to leave.
Helena never attended a muggle school, like her father had done, instead her mother would sit them down and teach them all she knew while in between making dresses for famous witches. In 1987, Helena recieved her letter , inviting her to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Years at Hogwarts:
At Hogwarts, Helena was instantly sorted into Gryffindor. Here, she had two very good friends, Stephanie Bexley (Gryffindor, Half-Blood) and Ella Stark (Hufflepuff, Pure Blood). The three were constantly together and the only time any of them ever fell out was after a nasty incident in their Fifth Year when they argued constantly over Ryan O'Hare (Gryffindor, Muggleborn) aside from that, they were constant friends.
Helenas first five years were relatively easy so to speak. She was never someone known to be in trouble, nor was she one who stuck to her books so vehrmently, she was, in esssense, the perfect average student. Her O.W.Ls came with rather good results, and her N.E.W.Ts with even better results than she had hoped for. She was not made a prefect or Head Girl in her time, both of those awards went to Millie Wildsmith but the head at the time always considered Helena to be a close match. In honesty, he would have said that she lacked the drive for either one of those positons.
Adult Life:
Leaving Hogwarts with decent results, Helena took a job in the Ministry of Magic in International Magical Office of Law where she worked helping to write and enforce trading laws as well as wand regulatory standards. This job mainly was helped by her O in History of magic but after several years she found the work to be boring and somewhat tiresome. She left the minstry and began to work for Filemina Walker, magical historian and author of 'The Essential Companion to Magical Sites Of Western Europe'. Helena worked as an assistant, helping with research and setting out plams for Filemina's writing. Helena worked with Filemina from 1997 to 2004 where she helped with further books including, 'An Encyclopedia of Peruvian Sorcerers' and Filemina's bestseller 'A History of Britain.' In 2004 whilst working on her most recent book 'Artemis Prang: Inept or Inexcusable?' Filemina died. Helena decided to finish writing the book and published it in 2005 with all proceeds going to a Pixie sanctuary in Devon.
After Filemina's death, Helena began working for the ministry yet again, this time however as a consultant to the Department of International Magical Cooporation. This job lasted until 2008 when she recieved a letter from Hogwarts asking her if she would be willing to take on the role of History of Magic teacher. Helena accepted. She recieved futher award in 2011 when she was appointed Head of Gryffindor house.
In her private life. The past few years have seen little change to Helena. She has never married, though she has had many boyfriends since leaving Hogwarts. She doubts she'll ever marry, though she does see the idea of children a possibility. Her parents are content with her choices she's made. They have grandchildren from Helena's siblings, and are relatively happy with the way her life has turned out.
